Consensus Meeting on Cross-Strait Maritime Law Held in Xiamen University

On March 29 and 30, the Consensus Meeting on Cross-Strait Maritime Law was held by Xiamen University South Sea China Institute. The meeting was attended by nearly 60 experts and scholars from Mainland, Taiwan and Hong Kong. During the two day meeting, experts and scholars convened on a number of important issues, including localization issues surrounding the Rotterdam Rules innovation system; present and future amendments and modifications to cross-strait maritime law; and the cross-strait shipping and trading maritime legal system.

On March 29, Dr. Kuen-chen Fu, director of the South China Sea Institute of Xiamen University, and Dr. XU Chong-li, Dean of School of Law，Xiamen University, delivered speeches during the opening ceremony and warmly welcomed the arrival of the conference experts.
