Prof. Christina WANG gave a Lecture at SCSI, Xiamen University
Published: Thu, Apr 25 2013 12:00 AM Views:1841On the evening of April 24, 2013, Prof. WANG, a visiting scholar of the South China Sea Institute, Xiamen University , gave a lecture on Transportation Revolution, Logistics, the Rotterdam Rules and Maritime Law. Prof. HE Lixin, deputy dean of School of Law, Xiamen University attended the lecture.
Prof. WANG first analyzed the history and relationship between the transportation revolution and the evolution of logistics. She then discussed the pros and cons of the Rotterdam Rules before finally returning to maritime law. Prof. WANG has worked in the shipping and chartering industry for more than 30 years and used that rich experience to offer her unique perspective on maritime legal issues. Prof. HE Lixin praised the lecture for its great value in offering students and teachers of theoretical maritime law a fresh and practical look at relevant topics.
At the end of the lecture, Prof. WANG discussed controversial issues with the audience and advised students interested in maritime law to pursue a breadth of knowledge from relevant fields and to seek out a range of opportunities in their post-graduation job-hunt.
