Xiamen University Center for Oceans Law and Policy Hosted the Fourth Academic Salon on Oceans Law

On the evening of April 25
th, the fourthacademic salon, entitled
A Comparative Analysis of Chinese and American Marine Fisheries Management,took place in classroom B319 of XMU School of Law.The salon was hosted by XU Peng, aPh.D candidatein international law; SHI Yanyan, a postgraduate of environmental management from Xiamen University College of Ocean and Earth Sciences, gave a report.
SHI’s report included:
Background on fisheries management
An overview of American fisheries management
An overview of Chinese fisheries management
A comparative analysis of American and Chinese management
Legislative proposals concerning Chinese fisheries management
Attendants warmly discussed SHI’s report and raised a number of thought-provoking questions and suggestions. Participants praised the salon as an excellent opportunity to learn more about Chinese national fisheries management.
