Tung International Centre for Maritime Studies (C.Y. The publication of its 10th issue in June 2010 the first issue after beginning the tri-university collaboration demonstrated the consortium’s committed efforts to advance the study and research of oceans law.
The cross-strait academic collaboration was established in 2009 and is composed of PolyU and:
Centre for Oceans Law and Policy, KoGuan Law School, Shanghai Jiao Tong University
Center for Oceans Policy and Law, Xiamen University
School of Law, Xiamen University
Institute of Marine Affairs, Sun Yat-sen University in Taiwan
Dr. Kuen-chen Fu, director of the South China Sea Institute of Xiamen University, serves as the chief-editor of the bi-annual Hong Kong publication (ISSN: 1813-7350).
To further strengthen the partnership between the cooperating universities, Prof. John Liu, Department Head of LMS and Director of C.Y. Together with other prominent scholars in mainland China and abroad, he will provide advice on the journal’s development.
Prof. Liu remarked, "It is a great honor for me to serve on the Committee. We strive to participate more in this meaningful collaboration, expanding the scope and supporting the growth of ocean law studies in the Chinese mainland and further in the global arena."
