Prof. CHEN Huiping Headed a Research Team to Attend the UNWC International Symposium
Published: Tue, Jun 12 2012 12:00 AM Views:1840On June 5th, Prof. CHEN Huiping of the XMU School of Law headed a research team of students of international water law that attended The United Nations Convention on the Law of International Watercourses (UNWC) International Symposium at the University of Dundee, England. This Symposium was hosted by World Wide Fund for Nature and the University of Dundee Centre for Water Law, Policy and Science which is under the auspices of UNESCO.
The UNWC International Symposium brought together world-renowned experts and national government representatives, UN bodies and key stakeholders to discuss the relevance and role of the UN Watercourses Convention as it moves toward entry into force.
Almost 200 people came to Dundee to learn about and contribute to the discourse on international water law, policy and science. The events benefited from the presence of a high-level delegation from Xiamen University, where Professor Patricia Wouters will take up a 3-year visiting professorship under the 1000 Talents Programme with a view toward establishing a strong relationship between the two universities and cities.
