International Symposium for the Law of the Sea Successfully Concluded

On March 12
th2005, an international academic symposium entitled
The New Development of the Law of the Sea and Chinasuccessfully concluded at Xiamen University. Mr. YE Shuangyu, vice-governor of Fujian province, addressed the closing reception and introduced H.E.Shanmugam Jayakumar, Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore, who gave a speech.
Prof. ZHU Chongshi, president of Xiamen University,Mr. WU Fengzhang,deputy secretaryof the Xiamen Municipal Committee, Mr. YE Chong,deputy mayorof Xiamen and Mr. CHEN Xierong, Singaporean Ambassador to China, attended the closing reception. Prof. ZHU Chongshi represented Xiamen University in presenting a gold painting of XMU to H.E.Shanmugam Jayakumar.
